Steven Spielberg confirms when the shooting of ‘Indiana Jones 5’ will begin

At 71, Steven Spielberg is more active than ever . The director premiered a few months ago ‘ The Pentagon files ‘ and will release ‘ Ready Player One ‘ later this month. As if that were not enough, the director has in hand a new version of the musical ‘ West Side Story ‘.

Although in his day it was announced that the director worked on the fifth instalment of the adventures of ‘ Indiana Jones ‘, many assumed that, with so much project involved, the latter would be delayed for a while. However, the director has surprised everyone by announcing that ‘ Indiana Jones 5 ‘ will begin shooting in April 2019 in the UK.

“It’s always worth the trip here, the actors, the technical team, the lights, the machinists … Everyone who helped me make my films here, will continue to help me when I return in April of next year to do the fifth instalment of ‘Indiana Jones’ “, said the director during his speech of thanks after being awarded an honorary award for his career at the Empire Awards this week.

Matter of time

After the purchase of Lucasfilm on the part of Disney, the rumors on a new delivery of the franchise were taking force. Shortly after, it was announced that Spielberg would take over the direction of the film and that Indiana Jones 5 , already an expert in retaking past roles, would once again embody the most famous archeologist in the cinema.

So far, little else we know about ‘Indiana Jones 5’. We can only wait for this fifth installment to put the saga back in its place, which many critics questioned after the premiere of ‘ Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ‘ in 2008.

‘Indiana Jones 5’ is scheduled to premiere on July 10, 2020.
